City’s Ewing Street Refurbishment/Line Project

The City of Hamilton said they wish to “advise the public that the City will be embarking on the undergrounding of utility lines on Ewing Street between North Street and Court Street with no effect to the trees and median.

“As part of phase one of the Ewing Street Refurbishment Project, the trenching works on Ewing Street is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 18 with an expected completion time of six to eight weeks,” a spokesperson said.

“Residents have been consulted and are well informed of these continued plans. At present, this will be the only Ewing Street refurbishment plans which will proceed.”

    I was in the area yesterday. It has been left unsightly and I cringed at someone falling in the exposed trenches in the night time. They are not very secure. I could not tell if there were any construction alert lights around the area dug out.
