nothing changes with them!
If your interested in chameleons then stay stuck with the changelings !
Progress over, politics. Sums up the PLP perfectly.
I have to agree with you,”nothing changes with them”. “They dazzle people with diamonds and fill their heads with bulls–t.” Why didn’t they taken them same dollars that were paid for them tickets and fed some homeless/hungry people? “Smiling faces…” I believe many can still recall that song? “Just because the P.L.P. know the words to a song it doesn’t make anyone of them a singer”
Typo: (I was in too much of a hurry to respond) “Why didn’t they take them same dollars that they’d paid out to purchase them tickets and fed some homeless and hungry people”?
If only you had a clue as to what you are talking about, the PLP, along with St.Pauls AME chruch have been feeding the homeless and those less fortunate every wednesday for the past 6 months, but you would concern yourself with that truth because you and yours are doing just fine in these tough times, isn’t that right mr. ray !!!!!!!
So for the other six day of the week and x amount of years the P.L.P. and St. Pauls Church didn’t do “Jack”?
You are a complete idiot raymond, this group has never and will never do anything right in yours and those who think like you, eyes !! You say that the BERMUDA PROGRESSIVE LABOUR PARTY is racist and divisive, but sir, it is your sad old bermuda way of thinking which ic racist and divisive!!!!….. chew on that. raymond ray !!!!
Show me where I have either said or wrote the Progressive Labour Party were or are racist?
Robert,(or whoever you are)you have a real serious problem
unfortunately Robert I have considered some members to definitely be racist without a doubt. they(plp) came canvassing for the election and recognized me as a foreigner just by looking at me, before I even opened my mouth. in their eyes, I was not even Bermudian because I did not look like them they even so nicely apologized to me for interrupting me and waisting my time because they automatically assumed I was not a possible candidate/voter lofl I did not even exist to them they r not looking out for me that is for SURE I will never ever support that racist bs
You mean like de $350.000?
No like de $800,000,000.00
$350.000 equals roughly 1/3 of ONE million dollars yes?
not one copper cent was YOURS or MINES..yes?
NOW $800.000.000 roughly 24 times the amount of YOURS n MINES is unaccounted for and those that DO KNOW what happened to it suddenly have suffered an acute case of amnesia along with lockjaw. Now i know why the Elitists want to Depopulate this world…or cull the herd. A hundred years ago it was easier to control the masses than it was to kill them now it’s easier to kill the masses than to control them…bring on the Ebola(chemical warfare).
Raymond Ray you are a miserable person. You sit on the computer all day and just complain about everything white and black. What’s next filipinos.
Sorry you feel that way…and that’s the truth!
@The Truth, I have to agree with you but not only is he miserable, he’s Nasty!
This goes out to you and all others that hide their true identity behind pseudonyms, (alias)
I speak my mind,(and yes, I agree I am not always correct)but at least I do sign my name…not like the real miserable people who are scared to say who they are, and having no problem criticizing others.
If you think he’s nasty and miserable I’d love to hear what you think about coffee , Ian and , of course , Kunta just to name 3 that spring to mind !
Totally agree that nothing changes UBP is the now the OBA
@ Ray IMO I do believe that can be said about both parties it just depends on which Koolaid you like SMDH it’s a two-way street selective memory
Not to worry you will see the change next election keep making fun of the PLP. Wait and see how many people come out and vote next time!!!
If the OBA don’t do what they promised to the common Man -then it will most likely be PLP next election.
Unfortunately there are several factors that haunt the OBA.
[1] There are still to many people out of work – about 1500 now it was around 3000 just before election time -
[2] The growing Racial divide – and it’s getting worse -both races need to cool down!- I hear nasty racial comments from both sides.
[3] the Economy – which many say is one sided -
Im sure the OBA will ensure as many naturalization and status applications as possible are processed by then. And they will likely have the “immigration reform” they want in place ticking along as an added safety measure too.
Disingenious.
1) Can’t make people vote
2) Can’t make people vote a certain way
3) these folks have their own minds..please stop insulting them.
If the economy is turned around the OBA win the next election. If not – they lose. It really is that simple. The opposition is fully aware of this and their actions centre on it.
SO..? you’ll get over it…this too shall come to pass.
Congratulations. Looking good.
Love the photo’s.
Johnathan Smith?
Only one white person I have seen.
Ex Commissioner of Police.
Senator.
Author.
Hello…………………………….
That speaks to a historical lack of interest from whites to get involved in “black” groups not a lack of interest from black groups to include whites. So dont play dumb like you dont know how things have traditionally worked here.
It is up to the PARTY to be inclusive! Don’t YOU play dumb.
Which black groups and which white groups are you referring to?
Jonathan was not the only white person in attendance. Everyone in attendance was not necessarily photographed.
What ever
Its great that they were able to get together to talk about the good old days – when they were relevant.
Some free advice – They need to broaden their appeal.
Ticket price way too high. Small turnout – not even many MPs. They still don’t seem to know how weak our economy is…
Enlighten me.
This was taken at Berkley?
Realy.
I need to know.
Thank you Bernews for sharing !
Smiling faces, Happy experience……
Stop the madness and get along !!!!
Yes Glenda, they all had had smiling faces and a happy experience, I can only guess the special plp tea was served????
Thanks, I needed that!
Its nice to see the PLP folks happy as they haven’t really had much to celebrate lately. There was the land grab thing which they tried to whip up support based on misinformation and outright lies. And then there was the disasterous PRC thing where they again based there campaign on misinformation and lies and in the process lost all hope of ever getting any of these new Bermudians to vote for them. Not the smartest thing they’ve ever done – oh and now they want us to support Palestine. Seriously!
So its hard times for the PLP as they have really just done one dumb thing after another lately. Still its nice to see them smiling even if they are pretending all is OK.
They’ve always got Dr B to look forward to at the month end.
Speaking of that “Open mic” on Palestine”….what was the turn out like? Walton, Starling and who else?
PLP standing strong for their own good.
OBA standing strong for Non Bermudians…
You are wrong Ian.
You’re smarter than that Ian.
sad raymond ray, his tombstone will be bitter
@ slouching and associates: You all need to get yourselves a “Raymond Ray”of your own, this one is taken up already.Sorry:-(
An affair was it! Well, I guess the PLP members know all about affairs.
Very appropriate that it was held at Berkeley, the site of their first way over budget & highly questionable project.
Hope they paid dearly for the use of the property.
Would it have made a difference if they held it at Saltus. – the PLP have long begun there campaign to get back in power
and this event was just a part of it.- the more events they have the more people they get on there side.–
it’s called Political promo.
How much did it cost ! and were did the money come from!
Oh, how soon does people like this Kunta character seems to forget:-( Asking about that $350:000(which by the way, didn’t belong to the Govt)but still, they want to know were it went
If you want some answers to unaccounted for monies I do suggest Kunta and the others start from Berkeley Institute and then add up all the other unaccounted for Taxpayers dollars…
(I would imagine you all will give-up and continue criticizing the One Bermuda Alliance)
they all cant count that high …lol
“Progress over politics”…but it’s a “Green carpet affair” and many are dressed in green. Nope – that’s not a political event…
Really sickening to see these folk party like this—especially considering the financial state the PLP left the Island in.
Somber reflection—not celebration—is needed.
I could have sworn that this was a fund raiser
Why such vicious remarks?
Even as they are being tempered with some balance…”that they paid out to purchase them tickets and fed some homeless and hungry people?” How would you know what their intent is when embarking on their political fundraising events?
You appear to be commentators akin to a mob who hurls insults at those they expect everyone else to join in the event and have it snowball.
Being mean spirited accomplishes the opposite, people see the accusers as the instigators and agitators of trouble.
As long as it’s a march or a party they will be there!!
The hate is great
Over 100 persons attended
These pictures are at the start of the event
When OBA has their social events do you all make the same statements?
the OBA don’t put their events all over the paper every 5 mins Chris. C’mon, we all know you’re bullheaded PLP lover, but why don’t you keep your “little” comments to yourself.
Ahhhhhhhhhh no big thing here! – it’s all about rallying the follows and promoting more to join.- I’m sure that the OBA
will have a similar event.- but will have to come out of there own pockets – if not they will be on the Mark Beans
dinner plate again.
One thing for sure – they got the Media’s attention
Unlike the PLP who had a legitimate fund raising event the OBA will probably seek funds from overseas donors. The SEC should investigate the “donations”. The OBA slogan should be “putting non-bermudians first”. Sick of the OBA Kool aid drinkers speaking negative on everything that PLP do. If you want something to do go clean your own back yards. After 17 months in office we have a reputation of a disgraced premier. How much did that cost the people of Bermuda in direct foreign investments.
Where is Kim Wilson and her faction?
The PLP will never regain power for as long as they make race and anti-foreigner their main theme. It’s their rallying cry. All this does is enthuse the base. As effective as that is, the base is not enough to win an election. They need to win the middle, and that middle, most of which is black, is not going to risk its livelihood on the party that had its chance and turned Bermuda’s economic fortunes from being highly prosperous to almost insolvent. Bermuda’s middle wants the PLP in their hearts, but at the end of the day, their brains dictate who controls their prosperity.
FYI the PLP feed the needy and the homeless every Wednesday at St Paul’s AME Church on Court Street. If your hungry you can come on by and get a plate to.
You’re, not your.
Too, not to.
I am confused. Why the negative comments? Doesn’t every political party have fundraisers and functions? if you don’t support the PLP don’t come! But don’t criticize those that attend. Don’t believe that the PLP has no support. Its support extends far beyond the attendees at this function!
@ watching ….Yeah! Right!!!!!Keep believing this. Many of your sheeples have come to their senses. Only the proponents of that tea and green drink continue on.
Got only one comment about this event…….. boy Nadanja Bailey’s cute
Please save my children if the Green Party ever run de govt again!
Please leave when they come back….really please do
I don’t care what political party you do or don’t support, there are some beautiful ladies there…
That aside, nobody outside the PLP decision makers know what the revenue raised is going towards, so comments about giving to the homeless are just spiteful at this stage. Let it go.
Where is the support, seems as if not many are there.Maybe a rift in the party?
That’s nasty !!!!!
Elitist old bermuda money raymond, thats what you are, plain and simlpe !!!
Okay “Robert” (or whoever you may be)you now have the last say…Good night
