Bermuda Toastmasters To Resume Meetings

Bermuda Toastmasters will be resuming club meetings on Tuesday, September 16th from 5:30-7pm at the Chamber of Commerce. As of October, meetings will be held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at this time and location.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Toastmasters club is a branch of Toastmasters International, an organization dedicated to the development of communication and leadership skills. Members of Toastmasters International have access to the tools, resources and support that are needed to succeed in public speaking and leadership.

“There are numerous professional and personal benefits of attending Toastmasters, such as self-improvement, time management, active listening, spearheading meetings, evaluating peers and public speaking. Club meetings are open to all, both members and guests, which fosters a sense of community and a positive learning environment.

“Bermuda Toastmasters is an active chapter within the organization, with over 40 regular members. Twice a month, members gather to hold meetings following a structured agenda. In addition to a few prepared speeches, other items on the agenda include: evening inspiration, joke of the evening, a ‘Table Topics’ impromptu section, and speech evaluations.

“Apart from regular meetings, Bermuda Toastmasters also organizes events throughout the year. Last year, the Executive team organized a Christmas Social, a Speech Contest, an End of Year Award Banquet, and Training Workshops focused on different communication skills.

Nicola Arnold, Vice President of Public Relations, stated “Toastmasters International is an excellent organization which develops speaking and leadership skills, fosters community both within your club and within the larger global network.

“The Bermuda chapter is a diverse group, a community of learners at different stages of Toastmasters, from complete beginners to advanced speakers, all learning to express themselves in different situations.”
