Y.A.O Baseball Fall Season Gets Underway

September 22, 2014

The Y.A.O Baseball season got underway this weekend, and Big Red saw victory slip away on Sunday [Sept 21] when a five-run third inning lead disappeared after a furious charge from Y.A.O CRL- Blue Team, who ended up with a 9-6 win.

Peter Komposch had a hot bat for Big Red. Peter went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Y.A.O CRL- Blue Team couldn’t get anything going as long as Sam Resnik was pitching. Sam held Y.A.O CRL- Blue Team hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, no hits, walked four but struck out six.

Liam McCue, Nicholas Bonano and Joshua Blee helped lead Y.A.O CRL- Blue Team. They combined for three hits and eight RBIs. In the bottom of the third, Big Red grabbed the early lead, 5-0. The Big Red attack began with a double from Peter.

A single by Andrew Tobin then moved Peter from second to third. Big Red then tacked on more run when Tobin scored on an RBI single by Caleb Ingham, S scored on a walk by Jannis Roberts, Caleb scored on an RBI single by Bobby Bart, and Ingham scored on a walk by Resnik.

Y.A.O CRL- Blue Team stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fifth, scoring five runs on a three-run error and an RBI single by Joshua Blee.
