Crowds of people made their way to St. George’s last night [Dec 31] to attend the New Year festivities, which included music, dancing, vendors, the Onion Drop, fireworks and more.

Speaking last night, St George’s Deputy Mayor Quinell Francis says “As you can see we are enjoying ourselves here in the Old Town of St. George’s, a UNESCO Heritage Site.”

And we just want to thank everyone for coming out and enjoying the new years eve celebration with us in the Old Times of St. George’s.”

“We would like to thanks our sponsors who have made this happen once again this year, and we want to give a big thank you to everyone in the town for contributing for the past year, and we look forward to a very bright future for 2015.”

St George’s North MP Kenneth Bascome added, “And I would just like to echo the sentiments of the Deputy Mayor thanking everyone, thanking the sponsors in particular and I’m gonna say this…in 2015, it’s the beginning of great things for the community of St. George’s. Great things!”

After years of hosting this event; I think that the Corporation of St George needs find ways to make it more enjoyable/entertaining. Most people were bored and only stayed to see the fireworks (like me). Honestly, it was horrible!

The ambient flair was there with the wonderful decorations, especially the street lights & buildings. 2015, let’s try & find the positive in all things people. Happy New Year.

May I also add the fireworks was really nice, it’s something I look forward to. Just please don’t try that laser light show that was done a couple years back again.
