PLP To Host Meeting On Airport Redevelopment

April 17, 2016

The Progressive Labour Party will be hosting a Town Hall meeting on the Airport Redevelopment Project on Tuesday, April 19 at 7.30pm at the St. George’s Cricket Club.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Progressive Labour Party, Constituency #2, St. George’s West, invites concerned residents of the East End to a Town Hall meeting on the OBA Airport Redevelopment Project, “Our Airport and Our Community, What Can We Do About It?” to be held at St. George’s Cricket Club, on Tuesday, April 19 at 7:30pm.

“This meeting will be moderated by Mr. Kim Swan, and the panel will consist of Acting Opposition Leader & Shadow Finance Minister, Mr. E. David Burt, Shadow Transport Minister, Mr. W. Lawrence Scott, Shadow Education Minister & St David’s, Lovitta Foggo, and Senator Renee Ming.

“There will be an opportunity for the public to gain valuable information regarding this controversial project by asking questions of the panel.

“We invite the public from across the political spectrum to come out and find out exactly what the OBA government is signing Bermuda up for with this Airport Redevelopment Agreement.

“It is critical that a project of this magnitude and national importance should be treated with full disclosure and we will continue to call for transparency from the OBA Government.

“Please join us on Tuesday evening, April 19 at 7:30pm at St George’s Cricket Club for this critical Town Hall Meeting.”

Ya boy might get fired instead of suspension now.

  2. Kangoocar says:

Another meeting of nonsense presented by the plp!!! Here we have, acting plp leader ” rum swizzle Burt ” , shallow transport Min Scott, who has been suspended from his, supervising job at Jet Blue, and Kim swan, who wouldn’t know the difference between a golf ball and an airport runway?? And Lavitta Foggo that will jump on any band wagon that opposes the OBA and all they are doing to clean up the mess their very own party left us in!! All we need now is, an announcement that the FAKE hunger striker will be present, and then we will have the perfect picture of all that has gone wrong in Bermuda!!! No thanks, I will not attend because I would rather have my wisdom teeth removed without anesthesia!!!!

This deal would be considered Corruption if Doc and them were a part of it.
      Two Bermudas.
I guess their ice is colder.

For them that see only what they wish to see…Speaking at a press conference today, where he was accompanied by Attorney-General Trevor Moniz, Minister Richards: ‘Summonses Are Not Valid’stated, ”The Government published the Airport Development Agreement [ADA] on the parliamentary website last year.
“More recently, much has been made about the absence of specific schedules from the published material.
“The schedules include commercially sensitive information that we cannot release while we are still in negotiations with C.C.C and Aecon.
“Parts of the A.D.A, which I signed last summer, bind us to keep such sensitive information confidential. This is for the benefit of all parties concerned.
“Releasing these schedules contrary to our agreement, would jeopardize Bermuda’s reputation as a responsible and reliable business partner.

    Now there you have…all

Well done. Keep beating the drum!
There has to be a reason the OBA refuse to release key information on this project.

  5. Cow Polly says:

We know what you think. You’re against it. Why give up time to listen to your biased opinions?
We would like a balanced discussion with both members of the Government and the Opposition so we can hear you debate and make up our own minds.

    • wahoo says:

You know that this meeting will not include, or allow to be included, any opinion that contravenes that of the plp. This is not a meeting for people who want all the facts so if you are looking for answers this is not the place for you.

      • Onion Juice says:

75% off the population were not included.

        • Cow Polly says:

Included in what? The decision? That would mean a referendum. Are we going to have to have a referendum with everything decision our ELECTED government makes in order to placate you? Do you know how ineffective that is? Of course you do but you don’t really care about our Country getting back on its feet again do you?

        • wahoo says:

          WTF does that mean?

No no no no no no……..repeat
