Western Stars, Southampton Rangers, St. George’s Cricket Club, Willow Cuts and PHC all recorded victories in the First and Premier Division cricket action.

Premier Division

Western Stars Win by 4 Wickets: Somerset Cricket Club 144 Western Stars 145/6

Western Stars won the toss at St. John’s Field and sent Somerset Cricket Club to bat, they were bowled out for 144 after 38.5 overs. Joshua Gilbert was the top scorer with 32, while Jacobi Robinson bowled 7-2-22-3 to lead the Western Stars bowling attack against his former teammates.

In reply Western Stars scored 145/6 after 35.4 overs. Tre Manders was the top scorer with 71, while Azar Morrissey was the pick of the Somerset Cricket Club bowlers when he returned figures of 2.4-0-12-2.

Southampton Rangers Win by 3 Wickets: Bailey’s Bay 218 Southampton Rangers 219/7

A nerve racking end to a game saw visitors Southampton Rangers defeat Bailey’s Bay by 3 wickets at the Sea Breeze Oval.

Bailey’s Bay won the toss and elected to bat they were bowled out for 218 with former Southampton Rangers player Malachi Jones their top scorer with 70, Jones was dropped four times during his inning, he was given a lifeline when on 17, 21, 30 and 45, but he was undone when 16 year old Tayo Smith took a return catch to dismiss him, Lamont Brangman was the pick of the Southampton Rangers bowlers with figures of 10-0-30-3, young Smith took 2 wickets for 43 runs.

In return Southampton Rangers scored 219/7 after 49.5 overs, Alex Dore was their top scorer with 54, while Kyle Hodsoll returned bowling figures of 10-0-52-3.

First Division

St. George’s Cricket Club Win by 3 Wickets: Somerset Bridge 127 St. George’s Cricket Club 130/7

Somerset Bridge batted first at the Wellington Oval and were bowled out for 127, Chris Jackson was the top scorer with 27 not out, while Detroy Smith led the St. George’s Cricket Club bowlers returning figures of 10-0-38-3.

In reply St. George’s got a 6th wicket partnership between player/coach Ryan Steede and Chris Foggo rescued the home team and guided them within reach of victory, as the host scored 130/7 after 29 overs. Steede was the top scorer with 46, while Foggo was not out on 28 when the score was crossed, Torleair Caines was the pick of the Somerset Bridge bowlers with figures of 7-1-23-3.

Willow Cuts Win by 6 Wickets: Warwick Workmen’s Club 120 Willow Cuts 121/4

Batting first Warwick Workmen’s Club were bowled out for 120, Shonari Boyles-Simons was the top scorer with 24, while Kwasi James was the pick of the Willow Cuts bowlers with figures of 7-1-15-4.

In reply Willow Cuts scored 121/4, Shakeal Outerbridge and Chakote Wainwright-Basden were the top scorers with 26 each, while Stefan Dill was the pick of the Warwick Workmen’s bowlers with figures of 4-0-26-3.

PHC Win by 59 Runs: PHC 226 Devonshire Recreation Club 167

Batting first on their home wicket PHC scored 226 all out, with Dean Richards their top scorer with 64 not out, Jodi Maroni was the pick of the Devonshire Recreation Club bowlers with figures of 7-1-25-2.

In reply Devonshire Recreation Club were all out for 167, Paul Carr-Harvey was the top scorer with 52, while Jahkhari Hollis led the PHC bowling attack with figures of 5-0-22-3.
