Seven Students Receive Legal Education Awards
Conyers Dill & Pearman has rewarded seven Bermudian students with their annual legal education award, saying that “given the calibre of applications received, the Firm was delighted to increase the number of recipients, which typically includes between two to four students.”
“We congratulate this year’s recipients”, said David Astwood, Director. “It is gratifying to increase the number of awardees and to contribute to the success of a growing number of Bermudians studying law overseas”.
This year’s bursary winners included:
- Hailey Edwards
- Rachel Tucker
- Amber Farrington
- Mathew Nester
- Ashley Bento
- Ligaya Sanchez-Wilson
- Robyn Meredith
“Investing in future talent resides at the core of Conyers’ vision. In addition to the Legal Education Award, we provide leading work placement programmes for students and graduates,” the company said.
“This year, 15 Bermudians were enrolled in the Firm’s summer law programme.
“Our programmes are designed to support the personal and professional development of law students and remain unmatched in Bermuda. We go beyond to design an experience that offers practical training, where participants work on real client projects, are mentored by our lawyers and are included in everyday life at the Firm.
“We are proud to continue to recognise such exceptional talent”, said Lisa Spencer-Arscott, Head of Human Resources. “Conyers is committed to enriching the legal community in Bermuda in the long-term and recognises the importance of creating hands-on experiences for students that will have a direct impact on their future”.
