Football: BAA & Robin Hood Record Victories

BAA and Robin Hood claimed wins in this weekend’s Premier and First Division football action.

First Division: BAA 5 Ireland Rangers 0

BAA opened their 2017/18 First Division season with a 5 – 0 win over Ireland Rangers.

Josh Hartman got BAA on the board in the 20th minute when he scored from close range, Hartman would double the lead in the 34th minute when he finished off a good BAA move spearheaded by Willie Clemons. Laquan Thomas would make it 3 – 0 in the 37th minute when he scored from close range.

BAA would go ahead 4 – 0 when Clemons scored in the 69th minute and Thomas would round off the scoring when he found the back of the net in the 74th minute.

Premier Division: Robin Hood 2 Dandy Town Hornets 0

Robin Hood began the defence of their title with a 2 – 0 win over the Dandy Town Hornets at the BAA Field.

Midway through the first half a penalty was awarded to Robin Hood, which saw Antwan Russell step up and sent the Dandy Town Hornets goalkeeper Troy Hall the wrong way giving them a 1 – 0 lead. The teams went ot the break with Robin Hood still leading 1 – 0.

The match was a back and forth affair in the second half, until Chris Caisey would find the back of the net in the 80th minute earning Robin Hood the 2 – 0 win.
