Bermuda Fashion Festival To Start On July 8
The City of Hamilton announced that the Bermuda Fashion Festival will take place July 8 – 14th, and is set to include the Evolution Retail Show, Hair & Beauty Show, International Designer Show, Local Designer Show and Bermuda Fashion Expo.
“The Festival is celebrating its 9th year as one of the most highly anticipated events on Bermuda’s social calendar. 2017 saw its departure from a summer show to a fall event,” the City said.
“This was largely in part due to the busy summer season afforded to Bermuda by the activities and events associated with the America’s Cup. The Bermuda Fashion Festival is back to its summer roots and is anticipating another exciting week of exceptional fashion and high energy runway shows.
“The Festival will kick off with the Evolution Retail Show featuring fashion from local retailers on Sunday, July 8th. The Hair & Beauty Show is back and will take place on Monday, July 9th. The International Designer Show will be on Thursday, July 12th followed by the Local Designer Show on Friday, July 13th.
“The popular Bermuda Fashion Expo, featuring all of the local designers in the Festival as well as other Bermuda designers, will be held on Saturday, July 14th. All runway shows, including Hair & Beauty, will be held under the Mega Tent at No. 1 Car Park.
T”he Festival is calling on all retailers & salons interested in participating to sign up no later than March 1st by sending an email to info@bermudafashionfestival.com and requesting an application package.
“The Festival is urging all local designers interested in showcasing their brand to deliver a submission to the City Hall offices no later than 5pm on Friday, March 2nd. The criteria for the design proposal can be found online at bermudafashionfestival.com. Successful applicants must be prepared to embark on a 4-month mentor program that will prepare them to introduce their brand at the Local Designer Show.
“Model auditions are scheduled to take place on March 10th and 11th at the lower level of the Pier 6 complex between 11am – 3pm. Children aged six and over will audition on Saturday, March 10th and adults will audition on March 11th.
“All models are asked to wear a white fitted tee and blue fitted jeans or shorts. Men and children must wear white sneakers or black dress shoes and ladies are asked to wear black heels, 4” minimum, no wedges. All adults are asked to bring a swimsuit.

You will present a full fashion collection upon completion at the Bermuda Fashion Festival.
“The mentorship program is from March 12 – July 6. Designers are paired with a mentor from the international fashion community and are guided to create a world-class collection for presentation at the Bermuda Fashion Festival Local Designer Show on Friday July 13, 2018.
“If interested, please submit a design proposal including the following:
- Your full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Name of your fashion line
- 5-10 fashion designs/sketches
- Concept behind the fashion line
- 200 – 300 words of why you would like to participate in this program
- A physical and digital version of your proposal is required
