August 22, 2018

Flanagan’s Irish Pub has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the fifth year running, and the company noted that having received the certificate for five consecutive years, Flanagan’s has now qualified for the Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame.

The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence celebrates businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor and that continually deliver a quality customer experience.

Chris Garland, Director of Harbourside Holdings, the group that owns Flanagan’s, Outback, The Snug Café, The Loft and Divots commented on the award, “We are thrilled to qualify for the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame.

“We continually strive to exceed expectations and have a great team that goes above and beyond, daily, to ensure our customers have the best experience possible. Bermudians are known for their friendliness and that’s something we want to convey as soon as someone walks through our door.”

Mr. Garland also added that he and his ownership team are strong proponents of the National Tourism Plan and the programs and relationships they have developed.

“The Certified Tourism Ambassadors Program and National Service Standards Program have helped us to define our service levels, and TripAdvisor is a great way to quantify those efforts. I am so proud of our entire team and look forward to working with such dedicated individuals who promote our business and Bermuda every day.”

“TripAdvisor is excited to announce the recipients of the 2018 Certificate of Excellence, which celebrates restaurants and other travel businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings on the world’s largest travel site,” said Heather Leisman, Vice President of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor.

“This recognition allows us to publicly honor businesses that are actively engaging with customers and using feedback to help travelers identify and confidently book the perfect trip.”

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

Nice they have achieved this but please don’t forget that this caliber of service was provided at all stores, restaurants and hotels in the boom years. It was the Bermuda 5 star service rating that visitors spread by word-of-mouth not some internet review service. It was pride in Bermuda that was behind the need to maintain the level of service Bermuda was known for.
