Photos/Video: Mbelenzi & Irby Win Zurich 5K Run

[Updated with photos] The Zurich 5K Run & Walk was held this morning [Sept 23] at Southside in St. David’s and was sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletic Association [BNAA]. All proceeds from the event will go to Action on Alzheimer’s & Dementia [AAD].

The race route saw participants start at Clearwater Beach next to the parking area on Coopers Island Road, north to Southside Road, left on Southside Road, west to the roundabout opposite the former White’s Supermarket Building, return back same route, staying to the left to the finish line across from Clearwater Beach. Update 1.55pm: Dennis Mbelenzi won today’s Zurich 5K Run crossing the finish line with a time of 16:45. Teddy Shum placed second with a time of 17:02 while Tim Price rounded up the top three with a time of 17:30.

Ashley Irby was the first female across the line placing eighth overall with a time of 19:13. Jessie Marshall was the second female with a time of 19:45 while Melissa Logie made the third female across the line with a time of 19:51.
