Generation Next Scholarship Applications Open
Bermudian students are invited to apply for the Generation Next scholarship, which will be offering a $10,000 scholarship to assist a student in their educational endeavors, with the application deadline set for 31st June 2019.
Generation Next Chairman Eron Hill said, “A great number of young Bermudians receive scholarships which afford them the opportunity to pursue their tertiary educational pursuits overseas. Comparatively, many of our young people also choose to work hard at home whilst saving funds to further their education abroad. Most unfortunately, however, there are also others who never receive the opportunity to pursue further education due to funding.
“In hopeful amelioration of this unfortunate yearly occurrence, Generation Next, together with our community partners, continue to be committed to ensuring that every young Bermudian can pursue their dreams, without the encumbrance of the vagrancies of life such as lack of funding.
“Generation Next recognizes that true inspiration and the facilitation of connecting talent with opportunities is of paramount importance. We are committed to investing in the development of young Bermudians to ensure a qualified workforce for the future. It our intention to demonstrate this commitment by offering one scholarship annually to a suitably qualified Bermudian secondary school graduate pursuing their tertiary education or technical/vocational training at an accredited institution overseas.
“Generation Next is committed to providing these scholarships with a priority on financial need, in addition to academic merit. This commitment reflects our vision that there are equitable opportunities for people to lead purposeful lives, have financial security and enjoy a sense of belonging within the community.”
