[Written by Don Burgess]
A 60-year-old man was sentenced to more than three years in prison for the knife-point robbery of Belvin’s.
Kevin Robinson had earlier pleaded guilty to robbing Belvin’s Variety Store in Flatt’s and to possession of a knife.
The Crown stated that Mr Robinson had admitted holding a knife to the head of the assistant manager and put his other hand on the back of the man’s head. The assistant manager was forced to open the cash register, and Mr Robinson took $150 and fled the scene.
Justice Charles-Etta Simmons sentenced Mr Robinson to three years and three months in prison with credit for time served. Mr Robinson would be on two years probation once he is released. He will also have to pay back $150 to Belvin’s.
