Mr. Gerber, whose full bio you can read here, said:

Whether it is networking on LinkedIn, corporate blogging or joining in the conversation on Twitter – more and more companies are learning how to use the new and powerful tools of social media

Ms. Mallon, a former Royal Gazette and Bermuda Sun journalist who blogs and Tweets as ‘Reinsurance girl‘ said:

Many companies know they need to develop the skills to use these new tools, but don’t know how to go about it. Many are riskaverse by nature and are struggling to work out how to use these tools sensibly. We are going to help people lose the fear and show them how to develop a workable strategy.

The seminar will:

  • Take you through blogging, LinkedIn and Twitter and provide examples of use of social media in our markets
  • Help you understand how it can be used to promote your company and executives as thought leaders
  • Help you understand how useful a networking tool social media can be in the global market
  • Show you how to develop a workable strategic plan for social media and understand the potential liabilities created by social networking – and how to mitigate the risks
  • Give you a take away guide to social media aimed at insurance and reinsurance markets
