NYTimes: Bermuda Shares Mayor Bloomberg
The Bermuda connections of Michael Bloomberg have been highlighted in two NYTimes articles, one called “New York’s Mayor, but Bermuda Shares Custody” and another article titled “Construction Woes“.
Part-time Bermuda resident Michael Bloomberg is the current Mayor of New York City, and is listed by Forbes as the 8th richest person in the United States with an estimated personal wealth of over $20 billion in 2010. He is the founder and 88% owner of Bloomberg L.P., a financial news and information services media company.

One article says that Mayor Michael Bloomberg is such a regular at Greg’s Steakhouse that he has his own booth and that cabdrivers in Bermuda know Mr. Bloomberg and say he tips well. They also say that he is good friends with local figures such as Sir John Swan and Premier Dr Ewart Brown.
The NYTimes also mention that shortly after Mr. Bloomberg was elected mayor, he requested that the Bermudian government seal all of his housing records, to which the government refused.
The NYTimes second article on Mayor Bloomberg, entitled “Construction Woes” ran today [April 26] saying his Bermuda property failed at least four building inspections.
