Swimmers: New State Of The Art Timing Equipment

New state of the art timing equipment was officially unveiled during the second day of the Makin’ Waves Summer Age Group Championships, hurtling the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association into the 21st century.

The total cost of the six lane scoreboard, touch pads, and computer console was donated by Makin’ Waves, Argo Ltd, the Parfitt Family, and BEST Shipping.

On hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony was Rick Correia and Viv Redford from BEST Shipping, Jeremy and Helen Parfitt, Wendy Davis Johnson from Argo Ltd, and Doug Patterson from Makin’ Waves.

Each donor cut one of the 5 ribbons wrapping the score board, with the final ribbon being cut jointly by Barry Hanson, Head Coach of the Dolphin Swim Team, Richard Goodwin, Head Coach of the Harbour Swim Club, and Ben Smith, head coach of the Sharks Swim Club.
