29 Yr Old Man Shot In Pembroke
[Updated] Only two days after 19-year-old Princeton Burrows was shot in broad daylight, Bernews understands there has been another daylight shooting with a firearm incident occurring minutes ago. The incident appears to have taken place in the area between North Shore and St Monica’s Mission Road. At this early time we have limited information, but will update as able. The Police are presently arriving on scene…
Update 3:02pm: We unofficially understand that one person was shot in the leg, and can confirm the hospital has a police presence
Update 3:20pm: It appears that it is not yet established exactly where the shooting took place. Police have blocked off Mission Lane from both the North Shore and St Monica’s Mission side, with Police on both ends and crime scene tape on one. There is also a large police presence on Crane Lane.
Update 3:45pm: Official information from Police, confirming a 29-yr-old man was shot and that they have not exactly pinpointed the location of the shooting.
A few minutes before 3 pm a 29 year old Pembroke man checked himself into the hospital with a gun shot wound to his body. Police were alerted and were told the shooting took place in the St Monica’s Mission area and police presently are in the process of establishing the shooting scene.
The 29 year old man injuries appear to be non life threatening.There is a heavy police presence currently in the area as officers try to establish the location of the shooting.Police are asking anyone who may have seeen anything suspicious to contact police on 2950011.
Update 3:51pm: We have spoken with a family member of the victim, who confirmed the good news that his injuries are non life-threatening. They said the victim, who lives in the St Monica’s area with family, went to get a hair cut at a barbershop on North Shore. His family said upon leaving the barbershop he was shot by the suspect[s] while riding home on a motorbike. The family member told us that it appears that the shooter[s] laid in wait and probably wanted to shoot “anyone from the area”.
Update 4:00pm: Police have now placed crime scene tape on the St Monica’s Mission side of Mission Lane. It appears that it is not yet firmly established exactly where the shooting took place.
Update 4:18pm: Police identify crime scene as Crane Lane in Pembroke saying “Police were alerted and were told the shooting took place in the St. Monica’s Mission area. It was later established that the shooting took place on Crane Lane.” They are focusing on the area as shown below:
Update 4:49pm: All Police presence and crime scene tape throughout St Monica’s Mission, Mission Lane and Crane Lane is now gone.

Bri is correct, that comment was made minutes after the incident when all we had was that it was a “firearms incident”…
Thanks Bri I did make the comment when all I heard was that there was a Firearm incident and no details as Bernews did not have nothign at the time. I am new to Bernews love how they update us soon as they get the info along with pictures. Thanks Bernews for that.

why is there always a large police presence at the scene AFTER a shooting. Do police think the shooters are gonna come back again so soon to the same spot. Let a few collect evidence and the others go find the shooters. FRUSTRATED!!!!!

I was on Facebook earlier and the RG had published a picture of the gentleman accused of murder this morning being led into court. Some young gentleman decided to comment on this picture, and said something to the effect of “he looks like a gorilla, etc etc” – there was an expletive in there, and the comment has since been deleted. However, I did click on this young gentleman’s name and viewed his profile, and everything on his profile was about gangs, what is going on, support for certain groups, hatred towards others, etc. If we know who the members of these particular gangs are why can’t police just round them all up and lock them away somewhere?! {edited for legal reasons}
I know you can’t hold people for no reason, but it just seems crazy how everyone out there can see who’s involved, associated with this and that “gang” thus must be involved, but these things still continue to happen.
Yeah there is just this little thing they call EVIDENCE and HUMAN RIGHTS!! People always say things when they are upset but if you sit back and think if Police just started going around and rounding them all up and just locking them away EVERYONE would be up in arms. Think people….
its not really gangs tho, i meant you can look at it from the outside and say, yeah its gangs but in reality and living in it myself I think its forced on the youth as a neighborhood crew/gang..of course your going to want your area around your home to be safe, so guys protect it in ways ppl would say its a gang, but its more about where you live and representing where you live more then gangs. If it were gangs it would be more like crip/bloods with colors, dances, hand signs and gang initiations.
