Male Arrested In Connection With Shooting
A “young male” has been detained in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old in Pembroke, the police have confirmed.
Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons said, “At a quarter to eleven, a 17-year-old was shot several times inside a home on Curving Avenue in Pembroke. After the incident, officers detained a young male in connection with the shooting.”
He added, “If you saw a suspicious white motorcycle on Curving Avenue last night, or you have camera footage along Curving Avenue and the roads heading east, please call the police at 211, Crime Stoppers on 800-8477. And if you know a cop, tell a cop.”
The shooting was one of several serious incidents reported this week, which also included the shooting of a 22-year-old in Hamilton Parish on October 11th and a stabbing at Southampton Rangers on Thursday evening [Oct 15]. Two other incidents left men in critical condition: an explosion at a Southampton home and an incident in which a 42-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a pellet while an “approved contractor was culling feral chickens nearby with an air rifle.”
