22-Yr-Old Man Shot in Friswells Hill

[Updated] Bernews understands that a man was just shot in the Friswells Hill, Pembroke area this morning [Sept 3] and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this time. At this early juncture we have limited information, but will update as able through the night.

Update 1:04am: The exact location in Friswells Hill appears to be Middle Terrace. The Police have it blocked off, we are unable to get closer and due to the rain it us hard to see much. Police confirm one person shot.

Update 1:19am: Hospital shows a strong Police presence, with a half-dozen Police officers outside the emergency doors.

Update 2:00am: Victim is a 22-year-old man

Update 2:30am: Police  release official information saying the man was shot in the leg, and has since been released from hospital:

Around midnight on Saturday, Police responded to a report of gunshots in the Middle Terrace, Pembroke area. A 22 year old Pembroke man subsequently attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg. His injuries are not life threatening; as a result he was treated and released.

Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

    Well i hope the police are looking at the times when these shooting are occuring as i am just a regular Joe in the street. Can’t they see that they are occuring at police shift changes and slower periods of patroling in the day and night. Come on people pay attention and lets switch up some things so we can actually catch some of these so called “gangsters” please ……… all they are, are puppets mimicing what they see on tv and then acting it out and failing miserably at it. The only thing they are succeding in doing is making Bermuda an even more unsafe place for people to visit that in turn kills out economy.
