Three Men Rob 74-Year-Old Taxi Driver

A 74-year-old taxi driver was robbed in broad daylight by three men whom the Police say are believed to be 18 – 24 years of age, however fortunately the victim was not injured.

At 2:50pm yesterday [Sept 2] Police received a report of the incident. They say it appears that earlier the taxi driver, picked up three young men from outside Brown & Co. on Reid Street in Hamilton and drove them to the Cedar Hill, Warwick area.

As the taxi entered St. Mary’s Church parking lot the three passengers robbed the taxi driver, removing a quantity of cash from his pocket before exiting the taxi and fleeing on foot through St. Mary’s Church graveyard.

The first suspect is described as a medium brown skinned man, approximately 5’7” tall of slim build with close cut hair wearing a black sleeveless T-shirt. The second suspect is described as slightly darker skinned than the first and was wearing different clothing but had similar characteristics. Additional details were not released on the third suspect. All three suspects are believed to be 18 – 24 years of age.

Police state that inquiries into this incident are underway, and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

      Which area…the graveyard or elswwhere.

      Never seen anybody of that description myself, their all dead.

      As for the 5′-7 black guys, last time I saw one was in Somerset and one on Front Street, otherwise..I’m of no help. I hope they find them. Should be easy since there are only three of them………
