Three Men Arrested For Parsons Road Shooting
The Police have confirmed the arrest of three people in connection with today’s [Oct 4] shooting of a 27-year-old man in the Parsons Road area. They revealed no further information about the arrests made. The victim has been treated and released from hospital.
Whether it is related or not we do not know, however this morning approximately 1 hour after the shooting, Police were seen in a known centrally-located gang area close to the shooting scene, in multiple vehicles, making an arrest. The victim is a former resident of this area.
Police are appealing for any witnesses that may have seen a man riding a white bike in the area this morning to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8106 or an anonymous call can be made to the independent Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline 800-8477 (TIPS).

We would like to take this opportunity to commend the Police for their fast action in the arrest of suspects in the Parson’s Road shooting yesterday.
The entire community remains extremely concerned about gun violence and the threat it poses to our safety, security and the future of our island home.
We would also like to commend members of the community who stepped forward to help the Police with their investigations.
Police and communities working together is the essential alliance in the fight against gun violence. The Parson’s Road arrests show how effective we can be when we work together for the greater good of the community. By doing our duty as citizens, we can make a positive difference.
I’m really embarrassed for our Island. This is something that HAS TO AND WILL STOP AS soon as this Government gets their priority STRAIGHT. So now we know that isn’t going to happen I’ll continue…. 9 PARISHES, 400 COPS,22 SQUARE MILES, 22 DAMN SQUARE MILES. Are you for real…Please let me slowly make this point by BREAKING IT DOWN…. Crystal Caves Wilkinson Ave pass Leamington Caves to Tuckers Pt. Mid Ocean Pink Beach. South Shore Rd , Collectors Hill straight west to Paget round about.. 6 square miles… Swizzle Inn east to Ferry Reach to South side beach, another 4 square miles, We have roughly 12 sq miles left….Southampton Princess South and middle to south rd junction w/ middle rd. 3 sq miles..Now we have used 13 roughly…..Mainly these are trouble free as far as I’m concern. Fairy lands 1 sq mile..14 trouble free as far as guns.. So with 8 square miles really hot spots (NOT 100%) But no offense to anyone just making a very valid point. What needs to be done is with the 3 shifts for officers. We know where the Main really problems are… Ploy the officers in these areas 24/7 put a camera at every street light. break up each and every time there seems like something suspicious is going on, bust houses that seem questionable , Change the nasty beggy pants laws, Let the cops use full force , because the criminals are, And please stop saying NO NOT MY SON. Cause it IS YOUR SON OR Daughter. Since the leader likes America so much, bring in 100 gang fighting cops from ALL OVER USA..Change the law from petty time to hard time like 50 years w/ no parole and mean it…….. Get up to date with the times, cause they are up to date with the crimes.. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. PS If the laws weren’t so lenient more folks will give evidence. That’s the word from people I’ve been talking with…. Thanks..(No offence to your quiet neighborhood I can’t name them all. And no I’m not white. I;m black, can’t deal with this no longer)…… Cops are doing a great job just need more community help for sure…

I come from a time when you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing the police. They were actually diligent enough to check the serial numbers on your fins of your block to see if you were riding an illegal bike. Now, they are nowhere to be found unless it is too late. Fact.
I agree with some of what you say, but I believe that they could have a MUCH greater presence. The reason that they don’t is simple – they don’t want to actually find what they are looking for, because someone on their side might get shot. I understand the dilemma, but I don’t think it is all up to the “leader”.

Exactly! changing the baggy pants law is not going to change anything…and why emphasis on the baggy pants..not all gangsters wear baggy pants…I wish people would get over that..baggy pants are just a fashion that has yet to go out of style…and we associate it with this and that…years ago fishnet stockings and mini skirts were the clothing worn by prostitutes ..but come winter many women are rocking this wear when they go to work in the office..fishnets, mini skirts and long boots..yet no reference is drawn to that…RANDOM ..I know but it irritates me every time reference is drawn to baggy pants…it’s just a fashion I repeat that has not gone out of style!!
