Photos & Results: 2010 SheRox Triathlon

Despite the presence of over 100 overseas athletes, local triathlete Karen Smith [pictured below] went out strong this morning [Nov 14] and won the 2010 Bermuda SheRox Triathlon.

Ms. Smith was the second Elite Amateur swimmer out of the water, clocking 12:59, Gabriela Arnold completed the swim in 11:47. Bermuda’s Karen Smith then recorded the fastest bike time of 35:12 and then had a time of 20:59 on the run course to finish the race in 11:14:56.

The international event started and finished at the Fairmont Southampton Beach, and saw more than 200 women, over half of which are traveling from the United States, take part in the sprint distance triathlon consisting of a .8K swim, 20K bike and 5K run. Barb McKeever, SheROX Series Director, had previously called Bermuda “one of the most beautiful race courses in all of triathlon.”

Bermuda TRI angels made up by Bridget Telenko, Sarah Bonett and top runner Victoria Fiddick combined to take the Team event in a winning time of 1:13:50.
