Videos: Tokio Youth Mountain Biking
The Tokio Youth Mountain Bike Series kicked off yesterday afternoon [Nov 20] at the Arboretum in Devonshire. Dozens of young cyclists all pedaled furiously around the course, while cheering parents looked on.
Younger groups had a small circular course while the elder groups trekked a further course covering parts of the Arboretum. Lots of support was being shouted especially for the “late comers”. Some children expressed wanting to give up after the first lap but were encouraged and continued on their trek as some walked their bikes over hills.
A Tokio spokesperson said “Our target is to introduce children to the sport and make it fun. This isn’t meant to be viciously competitive.” The next in the seven race Tokio Youth Mountain Bike Series will be held at 4pm next Saturday [Nov 27] at the Arboretum. There’s no sign-up fee and participating children will get goodie bags courtesy of Tokio Millennium Re. You can view photos of the event here.
