2011 Bacardi National Par-3 Golf Championship

The Bacardi National Par-3 Championship, a two-day, 36-hole championship golf tournament to be played at The Fairmont Southampton March 26-27, 2011. A Pro-Am will be played on Friday, March 25. The annual tournament, now in its second year, benefits Bermuda Red Cross.

The Bacardi National Par-3 Championship is open to amateur and professional golfers and is sanctioned by the Bermuda Golf Association (BGA) and the Professional Golfers’ Association of Bermuda (BPGA). A Professional Men’s and Ladies’ Division and an Amateur Men’s and Ladies’ Division will be played.

Creating tournaments like the Bacardi National Par-3 Championship will help us to energise Bermuda’s golf community and give golfers a reason to come to Bermuda. In this second year, we expect the tournament to grow over last year, with both local and international participants.”

We know golfers really enjoyed the excellent conditions of the par-3 course at The Fairmont Southampton last year and we’re looking forward to another high-calibre tournament in 2011.”

Last year’s professional winners – Men’s National Par 3 Champion Daniel Augustus and Ladies National Par 3 Champion Susan Bond – will return to defend their titles. As a Bermuda Golf Association and Professional Golfers’ Association of Bermuda-sanctioned event, tournament players will receive national qualifications points.

Tournament entry forms can be downloaded starting on December 9 from www.fairmontgolf.com/southampton. Registration is available immediately by emailing par3@fairmont.com, visiting the Golf Shop at The Fairmont Southampton or calling 441-239-6952. The entry fee is $225 for professionals and $175 for amateurs and includes a practice round of golf, tournament fees, lunch on both days of the championship, and a welcome gift. The deadline for entry is March 1, 2011. Overnight room rates are available from $179 for participants in the tournament.
