New CFO For Ship Finance International

1SFlogoEirik Eide has been appointed as chief financial officer for Bermuda-based Ship Finance Management AS`, the Par-La-Ville Road company announced today [Dec. 29]. He is 40 years old and currently serves as head of corporate finance and head of shipping investments in Orkla Finans Kapitalforvaltning AS. Mr. Eide will take up his new position in January 2011.

Mr. Eide has 12 years experience from both debt and equity capital markets within the maritime and transportation industries and has previously worked for DnB NOR and Fortis Bank, two large international shipping banks. He holds a MSc in Business and Economics degree from the Norwegian School of Management.

Ship Finance International Limited, established here in 2003, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates vessels and off-shore related assets in Bermuda, Cyprus, Malta, Liberia, Norway, the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the Marshall Islands. As of  2009, it owned 32 oil tankers, eight oil/bulk/ore carriers, one dry bulk carrier, eight container vessels, one jack-up drilling rig, three ultra-deepwater drilling units, six off-shore supply vessels and two chemical tankers. The company offers its services to various sectors of shipping and offshore industry, including oil transportation, drybulk shipments, chemical transportation, container transportation, drilling rigs, and offshore supply vessels.
