Green Family ‘Adopts’ Somerset Primary

January 14, 2011

Earlier this week the Ministry of Education welcomed from the Green Family Scholarship a donation of $10,000 for its Adopt A School Programme. The school being sponsored is Somerset Primary.

On behalf of the Minister of Education Dame Jennifer Smith, the Attorney General Michael Scott presented a certificate of appreciation to Green Family Scholarship representative Mr. Andrew Green. Also on hand was Somerset Primary School Principal Mr. Obrien Osborne.

  1. Curious says:

Why couldn’t Dame Jennifer present the certificate? $10,000 not enough to be graced with her presence?

It is possible that she may be away, or even out sick (did you know that Ministers can actually catch bugs just like us ordinary mortals?) and the acting Minister might be Mr. Scott. Don’t mistake me for a supporter of any ministerial arrogance, but unless you know for sure what the back story is, it’s best not to make assumptions. I agree that there is a history of snubbing and arrogance with some ministers, but that may not actually be the case here.
