Police Name 19 Yr Old as Kevin Faries

[Updated] Police have officially named the 19-year-old who tragically passed away yesterday [Jan 9] as Kevin Faries.

A spokesperson said “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 19 year old Kevin Faries of Warwick. The lifeless body of Mr. Faries was found outside a Rockland Crescent, Warwick residence around 11:15am on Sunday. An autopsy is anticipated in due course and inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.”

There is a Facebook group started `RIP Kevin Faries`, which as of this writing, numerous people have extended their sympathies to Mr Faries’s family, with special mention paid to his twin brother Kurt.

Update 5:50pm: Police issued an additional statement: “The investigation into this matter is ongoing and Police are looking at all possible lines of inquiry. Pending an autopsy, no further comment can be made at this time. Anyone who may have any information regarding the death of Kevin Faries is encouraged to contact PC Donville Yarde on 295-0011.”

      While this is a forum for all opinion, perhaps it would be more appropriate, at this time, to extend condolences instead of making opinion on what lead to this unfortunate death.

        Perhaps the integrity and sanctity of condolences will be kept pure if we didn’t suggest that other styles of commenting are in conflict with them. This is neither a memorial and yet condolences are appropriate here. I welcome and value all forms of comment personally and especially each individual’s method of coveying their heartfelt response to such a tragedy. I offer my condolences to the victim and family. And in alliance with you ‘aald’ it seems so many of us are unfortunately victims of this ‘system’/'world’ in our own way. So sad. I feel you.

    My feelings are so hurt for all my young bermuda Men:) Although I do not know this young men I really feel for his Family… I have a Son his age :(

    I knew Kevin and he was a young man who had given up way to soon!!! I take comfort in the thought that he is now at peace with himself!!!

    I extend my deepest sympathies to his mother and his siblings….this is not an easy thing to go through no matter what the circumstances!!! V keep your head up there is always a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

      I know what you mean. He was a true friend. Kevin was full of potential and very hurt. I pray that his soul has finally found home. He is very much missed, but I wouldn’t beg him to come back. My condolences go out to all that loved him.

    It’s a tragedy that this happened to Kevin. I hope he is in a better place. He was a great guy and im sorry that events turned out the way they did.
