Three Most Active Conversations This Week
Our first week of the year came in anything but quietly; with multiple accidents, defendants before the court, a shooting, and two accidents involving the Police. As always, Bernews readers offered their feedback, insight and more into many of the incidents, providing a wide range of thoughts from a cross section of the community. The most active conversations of the past week are listed below.
With almost 100 comments so far, many delving into specific aspects of the gang warfare:
With almost 80 comments so far, with many discussing the pros and cons of the Police chase:
With almost 60 comments so far, many speaking on whether legalization of marijuana is a good idea or not:
Nice topic. I hope you continue to do this every week Bernews.
I find it interesting that articles that deal with negative elements such as crime and drugs get the most attention as opposed to the other positive articles that get published in Bernews and other sources.
Negativity gets the most attraction, which in turn makes me think why the media tends to focus on negative elements in society. Negativity sells papers and/or gets more viewers unfortunately.
Thanks, and yes you are 100% right.
Being online-only obviously we can track all visits, and the stats are show 10-20 times more people will read ‘hard news’, rather than ‘soft’.

I appreciate everything you do, but I think it’s especially nice that you make an effort to draw people’s attention to the important stories of the week, even when they’re the ones that require the most moderating. :p
You have truly raised the standard of journalism in Bermuda to new heights.
Thanks!
To be truthful, we really appreciate all the comments and everyone who takes the time to comment…they add so much. Instead of having one perspective….comments offer so many different views, additional information, humour, ideas and all sorts. It’s great…

I want to comment on the parking ticket thing – but no story to address…
apparently she paid the ticket this morning.
