DUI Arrest: Man Smashes Into Embankment

Early this morning [Apr.1] a 34 year old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after crashing into a concrete embankment in St George’s.

A Police spokesman said, “Around 5am on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Old Military Road in St. George’s near the junction with Barrack Hill. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Old Military Road when the rider, a 34 year old St. George’s man, collided with a concrete embankment.”

“The St. George’s man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The motorcycle received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”
