Junior Netball Team: Three Wins in a Row
The Bermuda National Youth Netball Team is presently in St Kitts competing in the Caribbean Netball Association’s Jean Pierre Under-16 Tournament. So far the Bermuda team is undefeated, having won all three games thus far.
Bermuda, the defending champions in the Developmental Division, began the Tournament with a 24 – 12 win over Anguilla, which they followed up with a 29 – 19 win over Guyana.
Their third win came against Anguilla, a game which saw Bermuda dominate to the extreme — winning 31-2.
Bermuda held a 8 – 1 lead at the end of the first quarter, then scored 10 times in the second quarter without giving up a goal to lead 18 – 1 at the half time break.
In the third quarter, Bermuda scored 8 more goals with Anguilla again unable to score. In the fourth and final quarter Bermuda scored 5 times, while Anguilla managed to scored one more time.
Goal shooter Melissa Fiddick led Bermuda with 23 goals from 27 attempts while Taahira Butterfield shot 8 goals from 10.
The Bermuda National Youth Netball Team consists of Diara Benjamin, Taahira Butterfield, Asante Chapman, Sideya Dill, Melissa Fiddick, Shi-Vaughn Lee, Kayjuna Lema, Danielle Onyia, Sinae Smith, Akeyla Furbert, Khianda Pearman and Kirstin Saltus.
