Bermuda Hogges 2011 Squad Announced
The Bermuda Hogges have officially announced their 2011 Squad for the USL Premier Development League season, which will kick-off Friday, May 27th, against Reading United and two days later, Sunday, May 29th; they will play New Jersey Rangers.
There had been media speculation that three Bermudians who had played professionally - Nahki Wells, Reggie Lambe and Khano Smith – might suit up for the Bermuda Hogges, however none of the three are listed on the team.
In his first year as Head Coach, Maurice Lowe and his coaching staff have been hard at work preparing for their second season in the Premier Development League [PDL].
Coach Lowe, said, “We will be expecting leadership from our experienced players, while at the same time new players will blend together as one. Last year was our first year in this division, and we truly learned as a team. This year our expectations are too improve our record and overall performance”.
“Overall the team spirit is high, our players are mentally and physically prepared for the start of the new season,” added Lowe.
“With our players competing in the summer league this provides us with a platform for the World Cup qualifiers and with the domestic season ending last month, players had time to recover from injuries and in addition welcome back our University players who are currently overseas in school,” concluded Lowe.
The Bermuda Hogges will play a total of 16 league matches, eight at home and eight on the east coast of United States. Tickets prices are as follows: Adults $15.00, and Children U12 $10.00. Advance tickets can be purchased at the BFA office. The first game will start 7pm on Friday night, while the second match will kick-off 2pm Sunday afternoon. All Hogges matches will be played at the Bermuda Athletic Association Field.

On a separate but important note, we need to hear from the BFA president on Bermuda’s role at the special congress were monies were allegedly given to 20 members for votes. He also needs to discuss our Super cosy relationship with Warner…For far to long this current administration have played footsies with Warner and his cronies..Gives new meaning to when you lie down with man’s best friend….
