May 10, 2011

Bermuda consumers paid 2.5 percent more in March than they did a year ago for the goods and services included in the Consumer Price Index [CPI], the Department of Statistics has announced.

But this level of inflation declined from the 3.2 percent figure measured in February, 2011.

Between February 2011 and March 2011, the average cost of goods and services in the Consumer Price Index fell by 0.1 percent, from 115.3 to 115.2 index points. This means that the basket of goods and services which cost $100 in April, 2006 now cost $115.20.
