Tyrone Smith Finishes 3rd in Dakar

Bermuda National Record holder Tyrone Smith finished third at the IAAF World Challenge meeting in the Senegalese capital of Dakar.

Mr Smith’s best leap of 7.79m came on his second attempt. After the first round he was in second place with a leap of 7.58m behind Yahya Berrabah of Morocco who leaped 7.88. He remained in second place after his second attempt, while Mr Berrabah leaped 7.89.

Mr Smith had a foul on his third attempt and then had a leap of 7.56m on his fourth and final attempt. Aleksandr Menkov of Russia finished first with a leap of 8.16m saw him finish first, while Mr Berrabah finished second.
