Video: Kids Sing “Proud To Be Bermudian”
At last week’s Open Airways event in Par-la-Ville Park, young students of the St Johns Preschool sang a rousing rendition of the recently released “Proud to Be Bermudian” song.
The preschool teacher at St Johns said they saw the DVD of the song, loved it and said they think every child in Bermuda should be proud to be Bermudian, and thought they would start it from the preschool level.
“Proud To be Bermudian” was produced by The BERMUDIANS in association with Just Platinum Recording Studios, and features a wide variety of local talent singing against a backdrop of Bermuda’s incredible scenery.
The BERMUDIANS leaders, Janice Battersbee and Erica Rance-Cariah, said “Our goal with the music video project was to reach Bermudians of all ages and all walks of life with a powerful message of unity and respect for one another. To be able to say, ‘I’m proud to be a Bermudian’.”
They continued, “Bermudians have always been known as friendly and courteous to all, which has always been our hallmark. Now is the time for the people of Bermuda to re-evaluate and comprehend a new level of unity and respect that we should enjoy within our community. Now is the time to unite – to move forward together as one. We must focus on our commonalities rather than our differences. We must focus on climbing the ladder of success together. We must build a solid relationship of trust as brothers and sisters, connected by a common goal for our and our children’s future in our small and beautiful Island home”
The DVD costs $10, and proceeds are being used to benefit Bermuda’s Public Schools. It can be purchased at Caesars Pharmacy, Somerset Pharmacy, All Wrapped Up [Washington Mall], the Complete Office, the Christian Bookstore, T&L’s Budget Warehouse [Spanish Point] and Robertsons Drugstore
