Man Charged: Trespass, Stun Gun, Inflicting Harm

July 4, 2011

This morning [July 4] 33-year-old Erskine Phillips appeared in Magistrates Court in connection with the incident on June 20th, in which he is alleged to have illegally entered a home, subsequently receiving injuries that left him hospitalized.

Mr Phillips, still wearing bandages and medical ID wrist bandage from his time in KEMH, was charged with two indictable offences of trespass and inflicting actual bodily harm; and of being in unlawful possession of a stun gun.

The charges stem from an alleged home invasion on the night of 20 June 2011 in a house in Middletown Pembroke.

Mr Phillips was remanded into custody until 18 July when he will re-appear for mention. He was not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard in the Supreme Court.

After the incident last month Police said, “Around 3:45am on Monday, police attended a reported burglary at a Middle Town Lane, Pembroke residence. It appears that an unknown intruder gained entry into the home and was confronted by a male occupant.”

“A struggle ensued and as a result the intruder, a 33 year old man, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.”

“The male occupant was also injured; however his injuries did not require hospital treatment. The other occupants in the house at the time were not injured.”

Join the club, we would like them too.

Its the new court building, suspects are brought from the cells which are in the building, and if they are not bailed, they are taken back in the building.

We can’t take photos in the building so we are basically doomed most times with Magistrates [Supreme is still fine] Not just us, all media, papers, TV etc.

This guy is lucky that he is able to be remanded – as opposed to in a box 6ft under. Please do him a service and give him a long sentence – he will do this again.
