Norwegian Dawn Green & Clean Activity
Yesterday afternoon [July 25], crew members from the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship were seen walking around the west end picking up trash as part of their ‘Green and Clean Day.’
Captain of the Norwegian Dawn Paul Von Knorring said approximately forty staff members who gave a couple hours out of their day to help clean up and give back to our island. Jordan Fairn and Segway Tours were thanked for their offer of assistance.
The staff walked throughout the west end area loading bags with trash that consisted of a high quantity of bottles and cans. The staff then gathered at Black Bay Beach for a relaxing barbecue where a few of them jumped in for a refreshing swim.
Captain Von Knorring said he loves Bermuda and has traveled here many times over the last ten years. He first came to the island on the Norwegian Majesty.

Thank you all !
It’s a shame when ‘visitors’ take it upon themselves to clean up our mess. I’m sure that they’ll be horrified to see that by the end of the summer it will have to be done all over again though.
(‘Pristine Bermuda’ … a joke )
Thank you to everyone from the Norwegian Dawn who helped clean up a part of our island. I agree that it is unfortunate they have to clean up and not locals but maybe this will shame some of us into getting up from the living room and back outside where we can contribute to maintaining our natural environment.
Have a good holiday and try to leave your camp sites in a better state than you found them. “It’s not my trash’ isn’t a good enough excuse.
