Rider Hospitalized After Crashing Into Pole & Wall

A 26-year-old man was hospitalized after crashing his motorcycle into a wall and utility pole early yesterday [July 17] morning.

A Police spokesman said, “Around 3:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Montpelier Road in Devonshire near the junction with First Avenue.”

“It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Montpelier Road when it collided with a wall and a utility pole. The rider, a 26 year old Pembroke man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.”

“His injuries are reportedly serious but are not believed to be life threatening at this time. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Preston Gill on 295-0011.”
