ISL Players To Tryout For U.S. Pro Team

A number of Lindo’s ISL players are heading overseas for tryouts with the MISL’s Baltimore Blast.

Jason Lee, and Cecoy Robinson, the ISL’s two leading scorers, headline 14 players that will head to Baltimore this fall. GK Daniel Johnson, Defenders Kaiya Darrell and Logan Alexander, Midfielders Drewonde Bascome, Lonnie Bascome, Lozendro Symonds, Shaki Pearman, Shayne Hollis, Jahnai Raynor, and Ian Coke, and Forwards Clay Darrell, and Jahron Dickinson round out the list of players heading to Baltimore. The players will take part in the Baltimore Blast training camp this October.

Below is a synopsis of each player’s 2011 Lindo’s ISL performance:

Cecoy Robinson – Arsenal:
Cecoy led the 2011 Lindo’s ISL in goal scoring with 16. He scored two or more goals in five of the six regular season matches…Scored four goals in the Arsenal’s June 25th win vs. the Union…Recorded a hat trick in the Arsenal’s victory over the Kings June 28th…Scored four goals including a natural hat trick in the second quarter of the Arsenal’s 9-7 loss to the Royal on July 2nd…Scored the first goal in the 2011 Lindo’s ISL Championship match vs. the Knights.

Jason Lee – Union:
Jason was the second leading scorer in the 2011 Lindo’s ISL with 15 goals while only playing in four of six matches. He recorded a hat trick in his first ever Lindo’s ISL match, a 10-3 Union win over the Royal…Came back with five goals in his next match, a 13-10 win over the Kings…Scored a Lindo’s ISL record seven goals in the Union’s 15-11 win over the Royal, including four 4th quarter goals in a span of three minutes…Scored two goals in the Union’s 9-5 1st round playoff win over the Apex. In the two matches without Lee the Union averaged five goals per match. In the four regular season games with him the team averaged 11 goals for match.

Daniel Johnson – Apex:
Johnson was the #1 overall pick in the Lindo’s ISL 2011 Superdraft. He more than lived up to expectations in the 2011 season. Johnson averaged over 11 saves per match in his last five matches.

Logan Alexander – Arsenal:
Alexander showed that he was one of the best shutdown defenders in the 2011 Lindo’s ISL. He also showed the ability to come forward and score as well. Alexander and the Arsenal defenders shut out Union Forward Jason Lee (15 goals) in the two matches they played against him. Alexander led a defensive unit that limited opponents to less than six goals per match (2nd ISL)…Scored two goals in the Arsenal’s 13-4 semifinal victory over the Union…Scored the second goal of the match for Arsenal in their 6-5 Championhip game win vs. the Knights…Scored two goals during the regular season.

Ian Coke – Knights:
Ian teamed with Shayne Hollis to be one of the best Midfield rotations in the 2011 ISL. Ian finished tied for third in the Lindo’s ISL regular season scoring race with 12 goals…Recorded a hat trick in the Knights’ 9-1 victory over the Titans on June 25th and the Knights’ 8-6 win over the Apex June 26th…Scored two or more goals in four of six regular season matches…Scored two goals in the Knights’ 5-2 semifinal round victory over the Kings…Scored two goals in the Knights’ 6-5 Championship game loss to the Arsenal.

Clay Darrell – Royal:
Clay showed the ability to score goals in bunches in the 2011 Lindo’s ISL season. Darrell finished tied for third in goal scoring with 12 goals…Scored five goals including the GW and insurance goal in Royal’s 9-7 victory over the league champion Arsenal July 2nd…Scored four goals in the Royal’s 15-11 loss to the Union on July 7th.

Jahron Dickinson – Apex:
Jahron continued his role as go to guy on the Apex in the 2011 Lindo’s ISL season. Dickinson finished tied for third with 12 goals during the regular season…Scored multiple goals in five of six regular season matches…Recorded a hat trick in the Apex’s 8-6 loss to the Ace Insurance Blue Division Champion Knights…Scored the Apex’s only two goals in the rematch, a 7-2 loss to the Knights…Scored two goals in the Apex’s 9-5 1st round playoff loss to the Union.

Lonnie Bascome – Titans:
Lonnie is one of the fastest players in the Lindo’s ISL. Bascome was able to combine his speed and finishing skill to tally seven goals for the Titans during the Lindo’s ISL regular season…Scored two goals in Titans’ 7-4 opening night win vs. the Apex…Scored two goals in Titans’ 8-3 loss to Storm June 26th…Scored a goal in Titans’ 6-5 win over Apex June 30th…Scored a goal and assisted on two others in Titans’ OT victory over Storm to clinch a playoff spot…Scored a hat trick in Titans’ 1st round playoff loss to Kings.
