September 23, 2011

The fifth annual MindFrame PhotoVoice Exhibition launches today [Sept.23], at the Bermuda Society of Arts [BSoA] from 5pm to 7pm. All members of the community are invited to attend and experience the power of creativity and the human mind.

The exhibition includes art, photography and creative writing by people who use the services of the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute [MWI]. This is the fifth exhibition at BSoA and this year the theme is ‘What’s Your Story?’.

“We are really excited to be launching our exhibition of art, photography and creative writing this year,” says Morrissa Rogers, Clinical Supervisor, Allied Health, MWI, who supervises the Occupational Therapists who organize the event with service users.

“We have had art and photography programmes running for a few years now and with the support of the OTs and local artist Ami Zanders we have a stellar exhibition of amazing images. Additionally, for the first time this year we ran a creative writing programme. Our goal is to support our service users in finding a voice through creative expression.”

Occupational Therapist, Tom Raic, adds: “This exhibition is an exciting and wonderful experience for us. It gives a focus for our art, photography and creative writing programmes and service users are able to express to the community something about their creative talent and their experience of life. We hope people come to enjoy some truly original and unique work and discover more about the people who use our services.”
