29-Yr-Old Man Arrested After Accident
A 29-year-old man fled the scene of an accident this morning [Oct.20], and later arrived at the Police Station where he was arrested and detained on suspicion of drunk driving.
A police spokesperson said, “At 12:30am on Thursday October 20th police responded to a report of a collision on Somerset Road, near the junction of Scaur Lane in Sandys parish.”
“It appears that a car and an SUV were travelling along Somerset Road when they collided. The driver of the SUV, a 29 year old Southampton man fled the scene but later attended Somerset Police Station where he was arrested and detained on suspicion of impaired driving.”
“The driver of the car, a 49 year old Sandys woman was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
