  1. Great! says:

Good new blood in the PLP. I am liking our lineup so far guys and gals! A good blend of youth and experience.

    • Rob says:

Oh! do i miss Premier Alex Scott. This country would have been so much better off if Alex Scott was able to stay in power. Pray for “like father like son”

  2. me says:

What does Lawerence Scott know about running a country or even running a business? He works for Jetblue and he went to university for Aviation. Clearly, he would not have a clue how to run this country but then again who in the PLP does?

    • t sm says:

You are a hater! Many people in high positions started in low positions !!

For example President OBAMA started working as an ice cream scooper and now he is running the United States of America.

Malcom X who is one of the greatest and MOST influential african american men in history was involved in drug dealing, gambling, robbery and pimping BEFORE he became successful !

You are very immature with your comment, putting someone down for trying to become something better and trying to better our community !

I am proud for anyone who tries to better themselves ! Who are you and what are you doing with YOUR life, maybe you should focus on that !!!!

      Good Luck Lawrence !

      Tia Smith

      • t sm says:

Not to mention going to University and getting a B Sc is very commendable, and being a manager of anything is a huge accomplishment.

  3. OMG says:

Are you serious.Alex Scott’s son..LOL….if I recall correctly he manages Jet Blue. He can’t even manage that!! OMG help us. How could they select him over Neville Tyrrell.

    • PEPPER says:

OMG….I agree with you…Neville Tyrell would would have been a better choice…
Who is paying who to get these people elected ? can we the people of Bermuda believe that Rolfe Commisiong with his past…has a say in our future !!!!why is the cog still paying this man the big bucks?

  4. The Circus is coming : ( says:

This is a April Fools Day Joke right? Alex Junior. Ok since we have him lets add the clowns and the ballons. Forget that lets save some money and bring the whole circus to my party. PLP your letting me down.

    • The Circus is coming : ( says:

Sorry but I am PLP. Don’t think I’m going to sit here and see the party hit the self destruct botton. Lawrence doesn’t know how to run a business. I’d rather see DR. Brown come back.

      • Rob says:

Dr. Brown wouldn’t come back even if they asked him, he’s “Fully Loaded”

  5. ridiculous says:

U people are so negative…why do you have to condemn and criticize someone who obviously wants to help their community and is probably doing more than you are doing? I bet it is only becuase he is on the PLP side.
Had he been announced for the OBA you would be saying how you have this great guy who used to be PLP who is running for the OBA. Your motives are so transparent.

Lawrence, keep your head up! You know where your heart is and your abilities lie. And you want to contribute to your community. Let the haters hate.

As if the OBA candidates that have been rolled out have much credibility themselves!

  6. Wicky Chooper says:

    Big up Lawerence Scott.

As long as you you always have the best interests of the country at heart and keep your ear to the people.

Alot of people who claim they have experience in politics and governance are the most cluess people out there.

    All the best!

  7. specialgirl4 says:

Well done Mr. Scott, this is just wonderful. An intelligent, competent, and extremely capable young black man that will provide good service to his community and country. The selection of candidates so far suggest that the PLP are growing and evolving and moving forward. This indicates that the party is pushing young people forward to take over in the near future. Wonderful talent within the PLP ranks. Wonderful talent within the PLP ranks. I encourage our senior statesman to mentor our young people. Young people step forward and take your rightful places.

    • star man says:

There won’t be a “near future” at the rate we’re going. Young talent, yeah right. The PLP Central Committee and Cabinet control everything, and if you think for one minute that they will let that go, I have a bridge to sell you. THAT will be the downfall of the PLP – the PLP monied elite NOT letting go of their outmoded payback ideas and racial rhetoric. They will do anything to hold onto their meal ticket, but it won’t work. And you won’t see new young talent with any power in the PLP anytime soon. Trust me.

    • Rolfe in Sheeps clothing says:

Why can he not just be a young man! Oh I forgot the only reason why he is a PLP candidate is because he’s black in the first place. Normally you would say well done to the young man, but if your a PLP member you must put ‘black’ infront of the name.

Good luck to the fella either way, we do need more young people in politics.

      • babygirl says:

Why should one deny their race? To deny your race, suggest one is not accepting of who and what they are !! It is okay to say “Black, or White or whatever….

Little do you know. The PLP are always willing to give young people a chance and push them forward within the party. The number of young people that are currently on the executive and central committee provides strong evidence of this. The PLP are growing and moving on to serve the people of Bermuda.

    • What says:

“Young people step forward and take your rightful places.”

What, if you are not young, you don’t have a right to a position.? How about work hard and earn a place. You talk alot of nonsense in perpetuity.

  8. Terry says:

Thats why it is called the ……Friends and Family Plan.

Gives new meaning too Fruit don’t far from the family tree,,,,,

  9. BombsAway says:

I believe in these crucial times that politicians fill two requirements:

     A. They must own or be paying a mortgage on a home in Bermuda. This truly means they have a vested interest in the future of this country.

     B. They must take a drug test.

  10. Dr. Brown please come back says:

So now we hand the controls over to a Test Pilot. Is anyone selling parachutes.

    • Rob says:

I hear Col.Burch has been running around the island looking for a parachute, maybe you should contact him.

  11. Terry says:

Yeah…So what happened to my comment about Collectors Heal…….I don’t see it waiting in the stream…..

  12. ridiculous says:

These comments to me sound like they are coming from OBA supporters who realize that their candidate lineup is gonna be mighty shaky in comparison to the PLP.

  13. Terry says:

And whats wrong with that “ridiculous’. At least we can comment here. Not on your doppy site. Now go spin a webb…….or greeze a cog…………………………………

  14. Terry says:

And for yoo lutt…it’s not parachuting…..

    It’s PARENT-Shutting.

    Damn….thats a classic in my mahaem-waz………………………………

  15. Red Flag says:

If you heard his speech and the attention to detail he gave to the needs of his consistents then you would understand why he was chosen. He gave the voters a sense of hope. He made them feel as if he really listened to them and will get the job done. But that doesn’t matter to you guys right?

    • Hey wait a minute? says:

So you gave him a vote based on a speech. His daddy helped him write it. Anyone can BS a speech. Does he even own a successful business, I don’t think so!

Mr. Neville Tyrrell would have been a better choice the man has experience. This young man knows 0. If the central committee runs him in #24, I’m not voting and that makes a total of 5 votes from my family. Now I’m going out de road to de Bar nuff said.

      • Red Flag says:

No I did not have a vote there but what I am saying is he spoke on what was needed in his consistency based on what he learned hitting the door step and speaking to the people. He addressed people personally in his speech and outlined their concerns. His dad didn’t help him write the speech because he did not read one he spoke from the heart with no pre written paper. So speak what you know and stop trying to spin peoples words loser.

    • What says:

All 15 out of the 25

  16. Malachi says:

The fact of the matter is that many of the people capable of running this country do not care for party politics. As such, we will continue to see sub-standard candidates who are picked by a handful of party faithfuls. There is nothing democratic about a system that requires just a few people to decide who will run in a certain constituency.
With some luck, we will have some capable Independents running and winning in historically PLP or UBP strongholds.

  17. babygirl says:

Great Job Mr Scott, Well Done,

I am glad for you, and I know you will do extremely well. You have already put the OBA/UBP bloggers on the edge of fear!! They recognize another great talent has been added to the PLP. Whenever, this is the case they tend to do nothing more than write negative comments, as they are not capable of writing comments that are free from bias. This lets us know what is up with the OBA/UPB supporters.

Keep your head up high, and best for the future. PLP keep pushing our young people forward and upward !!! I love it !!!
