Bermuda Marks Diabetes Month In November

The Bermuda Diabetes Association will mark Diabetes Month with a series of events being held throughout November.

On Saturday, November 19 the Diabetes Association is holding a friends and family walk, getting underway from Bulls Head car park Farmers’ Market at 8.45 am.

Goodie Bags and T-shirts will be handed out tor the first hundred participants.

Also on November 19 the Diabetes Association will hold its “Victory Over Diabetes” gathering at at the Farmers’ Market from 9.30 am onwards. A free health screening event, blood sugar screening, blood pressure screening, foot screening, waist measurements and dietary advice will all be available.

Other events planned for the month include:

Friday, November 25: Denim for Diabetes Day – wear a sticker and show your support. All donations gratefully received.

Sunday, November 27: Church Service at Holy Trinity Church, Bailey’s Bay at 10:30am for remembering and honoring past and present diabetes sufferers, their friends, families and caregivers.

Tuesday, November 15: St. George’s Town Hall – 11:00am – 2:00pm

Tuesday, November 22: New Phase Washington Mall – 11:00am – 2:00pm

Tuesday, November 29: St. James Church Hall, Somerset – 11:00am – 2:00pm
