Dame Jennifer Smith said, “David, thank you so very much for the book.I am pleased to join with David Bascome in celebrating the launch of his new children’s book “Don’t Miss The Bus”, based on his Hope For Life programme. As you are aware, Hope for Life was launched in May 2008.”

“Their programme focuses on four major areas; providing accurate information about the dangers of drugs, and the downfalls of violence; teaching young people good decision-making skills; showing young people how to recognize and resist negative peer pressure; and providing young people with positive alternatives to drug use and violence.”

Dame Jennifer continued on to say that, “Hope for Life’s focus is prevention. The Hope for Life programme provides young people with positive choices, information and the skills to live a drug and violence free life.”

“Since its inception, Mr. Bascome and his team have visited virtually every school (public and private), the Corrections facilities and events sharing his positive message. The Ministry wholeheartedly supports his efforts as he continues his advocacy for Bermuda’s children.”
