Cricket: Bermuda Masters Win In Barbados
In their second game of the Sir Garfield Sobers Masters Tournament in Barbados the Bermuda Masters Cricket Team showed they still have the touch — emerging with a six wicket victory over Yorkshire yesterday [Nov.9].
Yorkshire batted first and was bowled all out for 129, Herbie Bascome was the pick of the Bermuda Masters bowlers with figures of 2-31 from 7 overs, while Andre Manders bowled 7-1-14-1, Charlie Marshall bowled 2-1-2-1.
In reply the Bermuda Masters scored 130/4, with Manders the top scorer on 38 not out Ricky Brangman was on 33 not out, Allen Richardson chipped in with 20 and Marshall added 17.
The final score was Yorkshire 129, Bermuda Masters 130/4, and Andre Minors was declared Man of the Match.
Bermuda’s first game of the tournament was against Shropshire, and saw rain halt play. Bermuda batted first scoring 150/3 in their 20 overs match, with Captain Andre Manders, Charlie Marshall, and Ricky Brangman all scoring 30 runs.
However when Shropshire took to the field to begin the run chase the weather conditions prevented play from continuing. Both teams received one point each.
