Fairmont Southampton Hosts Events Planners
Bermuda’s Department of Tourism, in conjunction with the Fairmont Southampton, is currently hosting a prominent group of hospitality industry professionals for Successful Meetings’ annual buyer event.
The meeting began on Sunday [Nov. 13] and concludes today [Nov.15].
The US-based Successful Meetings organisation offers the ideal chance for qualified events planners to learn about a variety of leading facilities from knowledgeable island suppliers, while exchanging ideas and information with other planners.
During the programme, planners and suppliers will attend educational workshops; have one-on-one appointments; develop new ideas and relationships for future business and event growth; and conduct site inspections of Bermuda’s award-wining properties, including the Fairmont Southampton, Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Grotto Bay Beach Resort, Rosewood Tucker’s Point and Elbow Beach.
Tourism Director William Griffith said, “We are honored to be hosting Successful Meetings’ educational and career-enriching event in Bermuda this year.
“Our group sales department takes great pride in highlighting what the island has to offer this segment — from proximity and top-notch meeting space to a range of accommodations and diverse attractions for all types of groups.
“This event will showcase our elite offerings and provide an inside look into the destination.”
Diane DiMaggio, Successful Meetings international ad director said, “We are so pleased to finally be bringing this event to Bermuda. Our meeting planner attendees have expressed great excitement about coming to Bermuda to view the hotel product and learn about what there is to do here for business group programmes.”
Two keynote speakers will participate in the special event. Futurist and global advisor David Houle and Jerry Teplitz, also known as “The Energy Doctor”.
With more than 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment industries, Mr. Houle is consistently ranked as one of the top futurist keynote speakers.
He has worked for both NBC and CBS and was also part of the senior executive team that created and launched MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1 and CNN Headline News.
Jerry Teplitz is a brain performance expert, and his one-hour session with event participants will introduce proven leading-edge, mind-body technology for effective networking.
