Nordic American Takes Delivery Of Tanker
Bermuda’s Nordic American Tankers Limited has taken delivery of its second suezmax newbuilding tanker of 158,000 deadweight tons built at Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., South Korea.
The “Nordic Zenith” was delivered to the company on Tuesday [Nov. 8].
At the end of 2010, Nordic American had 15 vessels employed in the market. The company now has a fleet of 20 suezmax vessels including the “Nordic Zenith”, representing a fleet increase of about 33 percent in less than a year.
Nordic American Tanker Shipping transports crude oil and petroleum products around the globe.
The company’s fleet operates primarily on the spot market.
Nordic American was incorporated in Bermuda in 1995 in order to acquire and operate three tankers for BP Shipping. It went public in 2010.
