Photos: 2011 Gymnastics In-House Meet

November 13, 2011

Yesterday [Nov.12] the Bermuda Gymnastics Association hosted an in-house meet, which served to test the gymnasts routines for the 2011-2012 competitive season.

This was not a ‘typical’ meet, and the gymnasts were not given scores, instead the judges wrote comments on the routines. The judges will go over their comments with the girls so they can have some constructive criticism. The main goal of the meet was to get out in front of a crowd and attempt new skills and routines, and to shake off some nerves before the Boston meet.

“The team is made up of 26 girls age 8-16 from all over the island,” said a Bermuda Gymnastics Association spokesperson. “They are currently preparing for a December 2nd competition in Boston and are eager to try out the new skills they have learned since July’s Island Games, where our team earned 26 medals including a team gold.”
