Phillips Top Scorer In Slovakia Win
Bermudian professional basketball player Sullivan Phillips was the top scorer for BC Prievidza of the Slovakia National Basketball League, in their win over eighth-ranked Vahostav-Zilina yesterday [Nov.30].
Mr Phillips led the team in scoring with 21 points, he also had 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Prievidza managed to secure a one-point victory 86-85, after a hard fought battle. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime, and outscored their opponents 48-42 in the second half.Prievidza made 20-of-22 free throws during the game, they also outrebounded Vahostav-Zilina 39-22 including 25 on the defensive glass.
One of the few Bermudians to have ever played basketball professionally, Mr Phillips signed a deal to play for the Slovakian team late last year.
