Sullivan Phillips Signs With Slovakian Pro Team

sullivan phillips bermuda basketball july 11Bermudian basketball player Sullivan Phillips has signed a contract to play for BC Prievidza of the Slovakia Men’s National Basketball League.

Mr Phillips has played in England, Hungary, Czech Republic, Cyprus and will now take his talents to Slovakia.

During the recently concluded Island Games – which saw Bermuda win the Gold in the men’s basketball – Mr Phillips received the Golden Ball Award after being named Tournament MVP [pictured].

He also led the Bermuda Men’s National team during the Caribbean Basketball Championships when he led the Bermuda Team with 86 total points and was the 6th highest scorer in the tournament scoring an average of 14.3 points per game.

Mr Phillips also led Bermuda in rebounds, his 45 for the tournament saw him finish 3rd, he grabbed 38 defensive rebounds and 7 offensive boards. Mr Phillips also led the entire tournament with 38 Assist at an average of 6.3 assist per game.

The 6ft 6″ basketball player has been twice defensive player of the year in both Hungary and Cyprus, and ranks as one of the top basketball players the island has ever produced.
